It's Sunday again, and I will be hanging around the house today. I might just clean the house and thats about it. Other then that not much going on right now. I been playing around with this Animation program. It's not bad but I need more option to really do some thing with it.
This weekend is Memorial day weekend. Down in Washington, a little boy collected 200.00 dollars for flowers for the graves, When he went to put them on the graves, the grave yard said he couldn't. They say only family members can add flowers to the sites. Well they came to some agreement and he made the headlines. That is something that they wouldn't let a six year old put flowers on the graves. We on hell of a kid to do that and good and kind kid. GOOD BOY!!!!
The king of Saudi is ill and that been in the news. they said he is 82 years old. When I saw him on TV he didn't look 82 more like 60. I hope I look that good at that age(if i make it to that age)!!!
Back in the war zone. A young man died when A car bomb when off next to his truck. I be leave he was only 20 years old. R.I.P to that young Marine! As for most of us, here in the states, We wish our boys and girls to stay safe and hope they come home soon keep up that good work you doing in a Hostel please.

Art book a great read!!!
here is my correction on what I wrote. and my thoughts on the book.
Correction and Update( May 23Th) I just found a different version of the story of Van Gogh. that he worked as Art dealer in London with his uncle, and after painting 70 painting he shot himself in the stomach. I read differently, but who knows if both or either are the right story. I have to say, shooting yourself in the stomach is a odd place to shoot yourself; the head seem to be more apt and quicker. the stress of not selling his paints is dressing. Art, Music and writing to seem all go together, all artistic. I have the first two, but writing is not my bag at all!! Maybe I just a boring writer lol lol. To see what I am talking about, read privies entry on the May 22.
I have finished the book It was a great book. Most of the MASTERS where depress or insane, and highs strung, moody, highly sensitive, dunks or use drugs. It was a great read with art work and points out different auspices of the painting. it was a little depression but I couldn't put it down I give it
**** stars for the book and if you have a chance and you are into art you should read it.
ARE CIA, I got a comment!!!! I got so excite I almost fell out of my chair and hurt myself!! It's been almost three months since the last one. I might get a blog Complex and have months of therapy!!! Of- course i being a little pretentious here, or a smart ass!!! :) :)
thank you to that person for recommending on a book titled" The true letters of Vincent Van Gogh" It's on my Amazon wish list for my books and I hope to read it soon, thanks again.
Art and music meet. Don McLean: Vincent ( starry, starry night) the meaning and symbolism
I been reading this great book titled " Great Artist; the lives of 50 painters explored through their work by Robert Cumming" Great book I have trouble putting it down and stop reading it. Reading it made me think back of a song in the early 70's called Vincent, starry, starry night by Don McLean. back then I thought it was about a female, but really it about Vincent Van Gogh Note: the sub title, Starry Starry Night is one of his great works that he done.
he was one of the Masters of painting and very dark and deeply troubled person. He was a teacher and a painted. After his wife left him and his son died, he went off the deep end( as I call it) He never could make a name for himself in his life time.
After the wife was gone and his son that did it!! He took his paints, easel and brush and went to a hill top to paint. He setup his easel and started a painting. He stooped and put his brush down and took out a pistol and shot himself in the head!! the Pain of the lost of his wife and son the loneliest and depression, and  ;no one would look at his art. Was to much to bare for him(as History recorded it) After his death and years later he was well know, but no one would pay attention to his work. its a same he never got the Chance to see it and enjoy it.
Here area's the song see if you can see what I mean about the lyrics and how its about him and art and the symbolism of the song.
Vencent (Starry Starry night) - Don McLean
Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land
Chorus:
Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free
They would not listen they're not listening still
Perhaps they'll listen now
Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand
Chorus:
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you Vincent
This world was never meant for one as
beautiful as you
Starry, starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget
Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn of bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow
Now I think I know
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free
They did not listen they're not listening still
Perhaps they never will
As in every art work this song has meaning. Also very sad in many ways.
As for the book!! I am giving this book 4.5 Stars out of 5.
if you know any other songs, that reference art or about an artist, please let me know. I would like to listen to them and know about that.
I am sure I will be talking about other artist later on, as I read.

Defining the 70's
Warning, this is a long eatery call it my flash back blog!!
Not to long ago, I'd received three E-mails from visitors of my Blog, and Email and They asked me how I would define the way of the life in the 1970's. I would expect, most of them were two young to remember or were born in the 80's. It took me a while to be able to define that time of the thing we have now then now, terms that we use, different attitudes, the music, the dress, way of life. That I said in an earlier Blog. I will try to give you my thoughts on this subject.
When I look back now on the 70's, I have mix feels about it. Most of the memories are good memories; we did have some bad thing going on back then as to day. Of course, they were no such thing as the internet or even computers then; there were computers in large companies and school but, but main frames and punch cards. Very few home owners had PC’s back then most of those were in kit forms and hard to build, no plug and play at that time. That did come to be until the 90's. Hard drive was a portable tape recorder, and modems were phone cups that you put the receiver of the phone. Maybe only 10% of use had computers back then. Most of the attitudes were left over form the 60's and the hippy generation. We were known as"Me Generation," and the Disco was the big from 1977 -1979. Some of the normal days to day words were, Far out, groovy, peace, Hip, get down, trucking one, etc. the pet rock was in and strove lights and disco balls and Icons of the day on the wall was the thing to have.
The rock music was still from the 60's style and but 70's music was a new twist to the style. Artists like Peter Frampton, Alabama, REO, Cool and the gang, KC and the sunshine band, bee gees(disco style), and so many other, set the attitudes the music was part of use. All of them were late 60 and came to life in the 70's.
In the early 70's the army jackets and had bands and long hair was in. Vietnam was just ending and the 60 styles were still in. Big flare bell bottoms and bell bottom’s prints were in. I look at pictures of me now and laugh at my long hair and beard as a teen and the shirts and close that we wore back then. Tie die shirts and string shirts were the fads of the day.
But, as to day as then, it wasn’t all Happy and care free. We had the Vietnam war, the hostages in the Olympic game and the Iran Hostages. We also had the gas shortage in the mid 70's and where I was most of the 70's New Jersey New York we had the Son of Sam running around killing teens and young couples in park cars and like now Hijacking of planes(the first on was in 1967 and went on from there) Gas was 55 cents a gallon and cigarettes were that a pack also, six packs were $2.45. Drive inn moves was big entreatment( hmm i won't comment to much on this ;) ) or disco. On TV we at Saturday night life roots and many of the great shows you see on reruns to day.
Some of the things have change with each generation as it different ways of life. It was a strange time from the jump of the 60's way of life of hippies and love children and the drugs. To me generation my generation, We had a different way of looking at thing and lay back more. I like to think of it as the great 70's. The 80's came in with rap music(Grrrrr rap!!!) But there you have it! I hope I cover most of the 70's and define it for you.
