Well Just this morning I was tagged by Doeyed. I guess it had to happen sooner or later. This is the first time in three and half years I've been blogging. Thanks Doeyed and it's fun to do. So here are my Five thing that I like and enjoy.
- Creating new art work and trying different mediums.
- reading a well written book and music (Classical, jazz or just old time rock 50-70's)
- going to new places and visiting and learning about new place on line( also watching and listing to other place far away.
- playing my guitar and piano.
- good wine and cheese and good home made food
Well that is it! That is my five thing I can come up with before my second cup of coffee :) Thanks Doeyed!
I hope every one have a happy and fun new year. Be safe out there and don't drink to much!
Happy new year to all.

Former president Ford died yesterday at the age of 93, 1913--2006
Mr Gerald Ford Died in his Calif home at the age of 93. Mr Ford played Football at U Mich and also served in WW II on an Air craft carry. He went on to Congress in 1947 and served until 1973. After a step down form President Nixon Vice President, he was asked to leave Congress and to served as Vice president in the Nixon Government. When Nixon resigned form his post in 1974 -because of the Water Gate- he step up to be President. He was the first president to become President without being Elected. One of the bills he sign, was to stop the war in Asia and bring our American Man and women home. It's a sad day, to lose a great man who did a lot for America. He lived a long life and our hopes is he will rest in peace.

Joe Barbera Dies at the age of 95.
A Sad day for cartoon lovers, one of the men who brought us all the classic cartoons of the 50's and 60's and up to the 80s; Died Monday Dec 18 at his home in LA Cailf, with his wife and family at his bed side at the age 95 -I hope I live that long!. Joe Barbera was a master of cartoons with his partner William Hanna who formed Hanna barbera Studio. They brought us such classics as the Flintstones, Johnny Quest, Yogi Bear, Top cat, Acura Man, Tom and Jerry, Adem Ant, Scoby Doo and so many other classic animation. You can read about Barb era and his work with the links below. Hanna Barbara studio was in LA Calif, that started in the late 50's and kept creating great cartoons until the 80's they were taken over by WB's in the 1980's. he started his animation work in 1933 at MGM Studio, where he worked with William Hanna. They worked at MGM Until the mid 1950's when MGM closed their Animation Dept and were out of a job, then formed the Hanna barbera Studio in 1956.
Joe Barbera and Friends at the studio.
One of my favorites is Johnny Quest with Johnny, Huji -the name was taken for Jihad meaning Holy war-, Bannit the little freasky dog with the mask, Race the tough and take charge guy and the Dr. Quest. This show was created 1962 but produc tion wasn't started until 1964 and went on for many years. In the 90's they had the new Johnny Quest but it wasn't like the 1960's version and it didn't hold up to The classic that was made in the 60's. Both men were great Amintiors as was Walt Desney (Dec 5 1901--Dec 15, 1966) and other great cartoon and Animatiors of their time.
Back in those days, all the work was done in Pen and ink and every cell was done one at a time. Every movement and every look had to be still drawn and shot on to film one at a time. There's a nice site where you can take a tour of the studio and see behind the scen photos of the making of cartoons at Hanna barbera Studio. Studio tour click here

Quote of the day: "Be eager to lend a patient ear to the opinions of others and think long and hard whether whoever finds fault has reason or not to censure you. And if the answer is yes, correct the fault. If no, give the impression that you have not heard him, or if he is a man whom you respect, explain to him why he is mistaken." --Leonardo da Vinci

Quote of the day: "When I am in a painting, I'm not aware of what I'm doing. It is only after a sort of 'get acquainted' period that I see what I have been about. I have no fears about making changes, destroying the image, etc, because the painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess. Otherwise there is pure harmony, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out well." -- Jackson Pollock (1912-1956)
