Mad, mad world of Warhol, artist and film maker 1928 - 1987.
In this mad world, where it seems that nothing is clear. Not to many artist get noted for there art and seem that most, just blend in the clog wheel of art world. There is one that always stuck(like an odd penny) out and made himself notice in the world of art, Andy Warhol is one of them( in communal art world) he was&n bsp;known as strange, mad man, brazier, asymmetric, and genies of the art word. His work was well credited over the years and over the world, most of it was silk screen and sketch's, that include portraits and communal work; Such as The famous Campbell soup can label, Marrow portrait and many others( for more of his work visit http://www.andywarhol.com/" title="http://www.andywarhol.com/" target="_blank"http://www.andywarhol.com/ )
You can say he didn't act or look like the normal person on the street. What was written about him, that he was very shy and quit person who like to stay by himself. Although, he had many friends in the art, film and music cycles. He also start the Velvet under ground and worked with Lou Reed and may other rock and folk stars. In the movie about " The Doors" the group was performing in New York city and attended a party by Warhol(around 1968)
I found some interviews with the BBC and I thought you may get a kick out of listening to then and you may understand what I found out about him also.

he was a genius in his own right. IF you have a chance, search for his work on-line and you see his art work.

Update Note: Some think I'm putting him down. I am not at all!! I enjoy and feel his work. I enjoy his work very much.

i've always had mixed feelings about warhol:
i think his vision was crystal clear. he could "see" with all of his emotional senses removed, and the fact that his subject material came from a "soul-less" world made his art pure, brutal, and very good. anyone who looks at his work is forced to confront their own emotions, because warhol refuses to supply as with any.
on the other hand, i think warhol's very same vision was static and limited. his vision had depth, but is so shockingly limited, that i'm not sure how to deal with the world he saw.
all the abstract-expressionism stuff ("MY truth is the only truth--this is my vision and you can't understand") going on around him was also brutal, also limited. but this pop art--i don't know, daniel. he saw the world of truth as soul-less, comprised of abstract, external, skin-deep relationships between people.
no truth inside, a cellophane, static truth outside. it eliminates self in a way that eliminates the artist, eliminates art.
in my bad moments, it's hard for me to refute that perspective. in my good moments, everything i do needs to refute that perspective.
anyway, good article and very thought-provoking links.

Very well pop and very true. I am sure a lot of others think I am strange in my own wary own way. I do believe I see things and object with its beauty and raw form. We seem to see things in a emotions and true light of things. I am sure Warhol also seen the world in that way. I never really felt I fit into the form of my friends and college friends when I went to college. HE hung around with the vampire type friends and he also knew a lot of the Rock and folk artist at that time. Like the doors who his music was poetry. The move that came out in the 90's had Warhol in it, the seen with they went to the party in NYC. I love his work and he thought behind his work and he seen in it. I guess must artist are strange in there own right. But, Don't have a abstract in are own way? We pounder at the world and filter it into our art and minds and keep it as part of us.

i've always found andy warhol facinating. to me he repesents a guy who created as he desired and didn't let himself get caught up in the conventions of the times he lived. Nutbar, recluse,or genius, he was his own person regardless of what others said about him and his work.
That's cool.
