A better place.
On of the bloggers said, “Is it funny how we always like to see other people’s house.” I thought about it and it is true how we like to see other people house and see what they have or don’t have in there house. And how we always think that it’s always better some where else far way from us? The place 20,000 mile is a better place and happier place to be. In reality it really not that much different then where we are living and doing over here where we are living everyone has to go to work and have to take care of there home and bills. They still get ill and have family problems just like we have on the other side. But still, we think it is a happier and easer life there then here. Why? Is it a way to escape from our lives and the problems that we have? It’s like we think over there it is a magical place or lives that others have. The same idea about seeing of their house and what they have in their house and how much better what you have in your house. Is it a contest on who has more or better things or is it just nice to see someone else’s home and how they are living and getting by? Maybe it is just human nature that we want to see other people’s homes and poking our noise into others lives. I am not saying that I don’t do it or like to see others homes and lives! But it just brought up an interesting topic that everyone does and like to do.
Growing up, I listen to shortwave radio broadcast from all over the world. In shortwave you get to listen to the local music, news, local human interest stories and listen to others who write in from other places also. You can almost imagine the people there and how their lives are over there. It’s like you can look into the radio and see them. My last radio that I bought was in 1975 and it was a Radio Shack DX-160 (That I still have in the studio) and I have listened to the world with it over the years. I turned a 6’ x 5’ pantry off the kitchen into my radio room as kid and sat in there with the door close and listened to far away place around the world. I started listening to shortwave in 1970 and did a lot of it until 1990. So I do too, want to see how it is over the other side of the pond and how their lives are over the other side. It was great to go in there and in away going other place. At that time I had pen pals that I wrote to and get to know their lives and how they are living. One that I am still writing to! She is in Asia, and we been writing since 1975. So I guess it is just normal to want to see other places and get to know other lives far away from us

This is a great post Dan! Yes, it is fun to see how others live. I really don't care what they have or how they dress but if they are happy. I too have a pen pal that I have been writing to for over 20 years! I had some others but unfortunately, they stop writing or a few have passed away.
Hope we don't get much snow around here this winter. Last winter was a bit too much to take.
Snow fall is my major complaint in life. LOL

Too much snow is bad for me ~ I do not like driving on snowy/slippery roads ~ but I am old and do not like that stuff ~ hmm ~ maybe I should go to Florida with other snowbirds ~ alas, but no money ~ yet!
Have a good day!
